The SCDP seeks to build on the emerging literature of the response of urban public school personnel to educational reforms. Specifically, the purpose
of the proposed study is to identify the ways in which the implementation of school reforms has influenced the educational program and environment
in DC public schools. Of specific interest is Superintendent Clifford Janey's Master Education Plan (click here to view the full MEP),
the growth of public charter schools, and the DC school voucher program. We anticipate collecting survey data from current teachers within DCPS, conducting focus groups of teachers, and interviewing principals and other DCPS officials.
