Dr. Patrick J. Wolf is the principal investigator of the School Choice Demonstration Project. He is a nationally recognized expert
on the effects of school choice programs on students, families, and schools. Dr. Wolf has particular expertise on school choice in Washington, D.C.,
where he managed the field research for the only randomized evaluation of the Washington Scholarship Fund (WSF) school choice program. In addition to
this research, he is also an Associate Professor at the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute. Recently, he served on the Brookings-Gates National
Working Commission on Choice in K-12 Education. He is co-editor of the book, Educating Citizens: International Perspectives on Civic Values and School Choice
(Brookings) and co-author of The Education Gap: Vouchers and Urban Schools (Brookings). Overall, Dr. Wolf
has authored or co-authored more than a dozen articles and book chapters on school choice, special education, and public management. His research has been discussed
` on ABC’s World News Tonight and This Week with Sam and Cokie, MSNBC, Fox Network News, PBS’s The News Hour, and National Public Radio, as well as in the pages of
The New York Times, The Washington Post, US News and World Report, The New Republic, The Weekly Standard, The Sunday Times of London, and many other news outlets.
Professor Wolf received his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) in 1987 and his A.M. ('93) and Ph.D. ('95)
in Government from Harvard University where he remains a Faculty Associate of the Program on Education Policy and Governance.
